Coors Light easily defeated a weak Moe’s Tavern Monday Night, 15-6. Coors Light felt good about their chances minutes after the first pitch, when the coach of Moe’s asked if stealing was allowed. The win moves Coors to 2-0 on the year, as the team inched closer to clinching a playoff spot.
Coach Voci was so confident of the squad’s pre-game chances of victory, he batted 13. As it turned out, his arrogance paid off and the offensive game plan worked to perfection. The team pounded out 19 hits, 8 of which were for extra bases.
I Robillard (2-2, BB, R, 2RBI), AJ Andrews (3-3, 3B, HR#1, 3 R, 3 RBI), Jim Antonetti (2-2, 2B, HR#2, 2 R, 4 RBI), and Smokey Wiener (2-2, 2B, BB, 3 RBI) drove virtually all the offensive production; accounting for 12 of the team’s 15 RBIs.
Steve “DJ Cowboy” Perkins (1-0) was around the strike mat all night and cruised to his first win of the year; fanning two. Perkins also, as has been the norm over the past 20 years, fielded his position like an all star.
Coors Light will look to continue their perfect season Wednesday Night at 7:45 against Central Market.
