The Coors Light offense erupted for 53 hits and 49 runs in a convincing sweep over Bogarts (17-12) and The Hive (32-9). In the opener, a Coors Light 9 run 6th broke open a tight 10-8 game. In the finale, a 10 run first inning demoralized the opposition and Coors Light cruised to an easy victory. The wins improved the squad to 6-4 and vaulted them back into the race for the top spot in the B division.
Everyone (even Powers) contributed to the sweep. Veterans, Captain Joe Voci (6-6, 7 RBI) and Smokey Wiener (5-5, 6 RBI), batting from the 11th and 12th spots in the order, were both perfect; with each securing their 9th walk on the season.
Also helping to drive the offense were:
Ichrio Robillard 4-8, 2B, RBI
Joe Nichols 4-6, 2 2B, 2RBI
Steve Perkins 5-6, 2 2B, HR#2, 6RBI
Buff Robillard 3-4, HR#6, 8RBI
Scott Umbrianna 5-7, 2B, 3B, HR#1, 3RBI
Bobby McCarthy 3-6, 2B, 4RBI
Pete Robillard 4-8, 2 2B, 3RBI
Ryan Ostiguy 3-5, 2B, 2RBI
Chris Washburn 4-7, 2B, HR#1, 4RBI
Aaron Benedetti 4-7, 2B, 2RBI
John Powers 3-5, 3RBI
Perkins improved to a faultless 4-0 on the hill, as his defense actually performed okay on the night.
Coors Light faces winless TPG (0-9) Thursday Night at 8:45, in what should be an easy victory for the team. |
