Coors Light (7-4) moved into a first place tie Thursday Night, as they easily defeated winless TPG 25-7. In 46 plate appearances, Coors Light reached base an impressive 35 times; as the team pushed its season average to an even .600.
Everyone in the line up contributed to the easy win. Six players, including player of the game Scott “Savage” Umbrianna (9-11, 9 RBIs in his three games back from vacation), were perfect on the night.
Scott Umbrianna 4-4, 3B, 6RBI
John Powers 2-2, 2B, 2BB, 4RBI
Ichiro Robillard 3-3, RBI
Ryan Ostiguy 3-3, 2BB, RBI
Smokey Wiener, 3-3, BB, RBI
Pete Robillard 1-1, RBI
Aaron Benedetti 2-3, BB, RBI
Buff Robillard 2-3, BB, 3B
Bobby McCarthy 1-2, 2B, BB, 3RBI
Chris Washburn 2-4, 2B, 3RBI
Joe Nichols 2-5, HR#2, 4RBI
Captain Joe Voci 0-1, 2BB
The 10 additional walks secured by the team pushes its season total to 69; one more than all of last year (29 games). Buff’s record of 17 base on balls (’10) will undoubtedly fall, as the new strike mat continues to benefit the hitters.
Walk leaders: Voci 11, Wiener 10, Ostiguy 9
Voci improved to 3-4, as he had little trouble with the weak TPG line up. Pete Robillard mopped up for his first save of the season.
Former Coors Light standout, Diamond Joe Bolio, provided some additional entertainment during post game festivities; as Coors Light’s string of quality hangs continued.
Coors Light (H) faces Moe’s Tavern (3-8) Monday Night at 6:45, as the squad looks for its 4th consecutive victory. |
