Posted Jul 11/11 - Fri 7/8, Coors Lt drops another to Lincoln

Some untimely Coors Light errors and a horrendous two out safe call by Bruce the ump, enabled Lincoln Club to break open a close 10-5 contest with a 7 run 5th.  The bad inning deflated Coors Light and essentially ended any promise of a comeback.  The defeat dropped Coors Light to 10-6 on the year, as they continued to struggle against A division opponents (1-5).

The offense started where it left off last game, plating three in the initial frame; as Coors Light batted around for the third time this week.  Unfortunately, the team could only manage eight hits and two runs the remainder of the contest.

Ichiro Robillard 1-3, BB

Joe Nichols 1-3, BB, 2B

Buff Robillard 2-4, 2B, 2RBI
Scott Umbrianna 2-3, BB, 2B

Bobby McCarthy 1-2, SF, RBI

Ryan Ostiguy 2-3

Smokey Wiener 1-3, RBI

John Powers 1-1, BB, SF, RBI

Aaron Benedetti 0-2

Chris Washburn 0-2

Emergency starter Nichols (0-1, 1 HLD), stunned by a 100 MPH liner from Lincoln’s lead off hitter (which narrowly missed his head and would have forced him to bypass Saturday karaoke), and affected by a wet mud ball (and hangnail, slight fever, hunger, and the chills) took the loss.  Nichols was erratic, walking perhaps up to 10 opposing batters during the contest.

With their captain returning from his tour of NH ice cream establishments, Coors Light (H) faces A division opponent the Replacements on Wednesday @7:45.  Coors Light outslugged the Replacements back in May on route to their only win thus far against A division opponents.
