In a playoff type atmosphere, Coors Light blew a one run lead in the 7th of Game 1 (a 20-17 loss) and almost blew a 5 run 7th inning lead in Game 2; but snuck out with a 20-19 victory (with the opposition leaving the tying and winning runs on base). The split against Central (9-13) moved Coors Light to 12-9 on the year; as the team remained in a statistical tie for first place with The Hive (13-10).
Though the offense put up 37 runs on the night, it remained inconsistent (putting up 1 run or less in 7 of the 14 innings played). As has been the case throughout the year, Coors Light relied heavily on the big inning (scoring 6/7 runs in 4 innings) to power their offense. Scott Umbrianna (13 for his last 14) led the offense, as the opposition failed to get him out all night.

John Powers (hand) was a late scratch due to an arterial puncture. Powers was to see an “Asian specialist” Thursday morning, where he hoped to get some soothing relief.
