Despite only playing with nine, Coors Light easily defeated Bogarts (8-14) 28-14 in a shortened five inning affair Monday Night. The win moved Coors Light to 13-9 on the year and pulled them a half game in front of idle 2nd place The Hive.
The Coors Light offense was in a word, amazing; putting up 30 hits in only 39 at bats (for a .769 AVG). The team supplemented those 30 hits with 7 more base on balls, as the team achieved an incredible .804 OBP on the night. Virtually everyone chipped in to the victory, as 7 of the 9 Coors Light hitters reached base at least four times. Captain Joe Voci's 3 additional walks put him at 19 for the season (an all time Coors Light record); breaking the 17 free passes attained by Buff Robillard last year.
Ryan Ostiguy 3-4, 2 BB, 2RBI
Joe Nichols 1-4, BB, SF, 3RBI
Buff Robillard 3-6, 2 2B, 3RBI
Jim Antonetti 4-5, 2B
Scott Umbrianna 3-3, BB, 2B, HR (#5), 5RBI
Pete Robillard 5-5, 3RBI
Aaron Benedetti 5-5, 2 2B, 3RBI
Joe Voci 2-2, 3 BB, 2B, 5RBI
John Powers 4-5, 2B, 4RBI
Captain Voci improved to 4-6 on the season, striking out two opposing batters on the way to the victory.
After the game, Chris Washburn was placed on irrevocable waivers; screwing the team for the last time (with yet another: I’ll be there/no call/no show).
Coors Light (A) faces cellar dweller TPG (2-22) Wednesday @6:45, as the team looks to extend its first place lead. |
