Joe Nichols’ 2 out 2B in the 6th plated 2 and put Coors Light up for good, as the team battled back from deficits of 8-1 and 15-11 to defeat a pesky Bogart’s team 21-15. The 6th was a big inning for Coors Light, as they put up 10 runs; all with two out. The victory pushed Coors Light’s magic number to 1, as they look to capture their 3rd division title in 13 BMSL seasons. Coors Light could take the field division champs tonight with a Hive loss at 7:45. They can also clinch by taking down the Hive at 8:45, as the regular season concludes.
The Coors Light offense was again up/down but it came through with the game on the line. Pete “El Caballito” Robillard was again the star, as he continued his breakout season (which has been in the works for ten years). Pete’s 5-5 performance bolstered his average to an amazing, team leading .688 (slightly above his .461 career mark). John Powers chipped in with an equally important 3-3 perfect night (combined with a BB).
Ichiro Robillard 3-5, 2B, 3RBI
Joe Nichols 2-3, BB, SF, 2B, 5RBI
Scott Umbrianna 2-5, 2B, 3RBI
Jim Antonetti 3-5, 2B, RBI
Steve Perkins 3-5, RBI
Pete Robillard 5-5, 2B, 3B, 2RBI
Ryan Ostiguy 1-4, BB, 3B, RBI
Smokey Wiener 1-3, BB(#17)
Joe Voci 2-3, BB(#21), 3RBI
John Powers 3-3, BB, 2RBI
Perkins improved to 10-2 on the season, as the defense was let’s just say: “typical”.
Post game, Coors Light, accompanied by Brad the ump, powered through the rain to win the parking lot wars. The Powers’ discussion regarding Brad’s man boobs goes down as an instant classic. |
