Posted Jul 6/10 - Mon 7/6, a solid win for Coors Light

In one of their best played games all year, Coors Light secured a 15-8 victory over last place TPG in Monday Night action.  TPG got up on Coors Light early, breaking out with three in the top of the first.  However, Coors Light managed five of their own in the third to go up 6-3; a lead the team would never relinquish.  The team improved to 7-11 with the win and remained just behind Emma's (10-9) in the race for the final playoff position.

The offense managed 20 hits in only 33 ABs (.606 AVG), as virtually everyone in the twelve man line up contributed to the win.  Joe Nichols (3-3, 3 R, 4 RBI), Buff Robillard (2-2, 2B, 2 RBI, SF), Captain Joe Voci (1-1, R, BB, 2 RBI, SF), Aaron Benedetti (2-3, 2 R, 3B, RBI), Jeff Stastny (2-3, R, 2B), Jim Antonetti (2-3, R, 2B, RBI), John Powers (2-3, 2 R, RBI), AJ Andrews (2-4, 2 R, 2B, 2 RBI) led the offensive outburst.

Voci (2-6) allowed a mere eight runs over seven, as he picked up his first win on the mound since May 24th.  The defense was solid throughout the night; highlighted by the play of one Pete “El Caballito” Robillard who ate up everything at 2nd (though still had people at Cumberland Farms diving for cover due to one of his errant cannons intended for the first baseman, Stastny’s mitt).

Coors Light next faces first place Lincoln Thursday @6:45, as they look to hand the opposition their second straight defeat this week.
