Coors Light (7-20) dropped its 8th staight Friday Night, as they were slaughtered (for the 8th time this year) 25-10 to DeGrace. The hot opposition bats, combined with a poor defense, spelled doom for Coors Light; as DeGrace scored in all seven innings.
The offense was led by Captain Joe Voci (3-3, 2 R, 2 2B), Bobby McCarthy (3-3, 2B, 2 RBI), Joe Nichols (2-4, 2 R, 2B, HR, 3 RBI), AJ Andrews (2-3, R, 2 RBI, SF), Jim Antonetti (2-4, 2 R, 2B, 2 RBI; completing a red hot July which earned him player of the month honors), and Buff Robillard (1-2, 2 R, 2B, 2 BB; including his 15th, tying an all time Coors Light record for single season walks).
Starter, Voci (2-12), lasted only three innings; as mid game infield defensive adjustments where necessary (Pete Robillard). Fireballer Andrews came in to mop things up and struck out two. As mentioned, both pitchers were negatively affected by a defense that played a subpar game.
Coors Light next faces Emma's (15-10), Monday @6:45 in game 28 (of 30) of the season. |
