STARS PLACE 7th at PROVINCIALS

The Stars took 7th place at the recently held Provincial Championships at Sicamous BC, narrowly missing the playoffs by 3 runs. 16 Teams from around the Province earned the right to participate but only 6 advanced after round robin play. The Stars went 2-2 in round robin, beating Kelowna Steelers (6-4), Fleetwood Force (11-3), while losing to Okanagan Angels (4-1) and PoCo Ravens (3-2) in a heartbreaker. In their final game, the Stars had to mercy the Force to have any chance of advancing. Despite being down 4-0 after 3 innings, the Stars rallied with 11 unanswered runs to give themselves a chance. 6th spot was determined by net runs and we just missed it. Four of the top 6 Lower Mainland top regular season contenders did not advance attesting to the high caliber of play and difficult draws.

In the skills competition events the Stars shone:

1st place in the team base-running speed competition (Leanne, Leigh, Lia, Julie)

3rd place in the team "round the horn" throwing competition (Erin, Samantha, Olivia, Courtenay)

5th place in the home run hitting contest (Lindsay)

In the pitching skills event, both Katie and Michelle clocked in at 53 mph!

Overall a successful tournament and wonderful memories for all.

Congratulations Stars!!!

STARS END REGULAR SEASON

The Stars took 2nd place in the 13 team West division and 3rd place overall in the Lower Mainland 25 team Bantam B division. We finished the year with an outstanding record of 16 wins, 3 losses, and 1 tie.
Congratulations Stars!!!

STARS ROAD TRIP!

The Stars took the Silver Medal at the Nanaimo Tournament May 24-26th at McGirr Park which featured 11 Vancouver Island teams in addition to the Stars.

The Stars finished with a 4-2 record. We defeated Alberni Valley twice, Strawberry Vale, and View Royal Raiders. The Stars lost twice to Gordon Head Wave - once 4-2 then 7-6 in extra innings in the Final. The Wave are an excellent team with great kids and coaching and deserving Gold Medallists.
