Tater Grip 14U is proud to announce that they have been officially accepted to the prestigious USA Baseball National Team Championships (“Junior Olympics”) in late June at the spring training homes of the White Sox/Dodgers, Padres/Mariners and Indians/Reds in Glendale, Peoria, and Goodyear, Arizona.
Each year, USA Baseball (www.usabaseball.com) invites the top teams in the nation to showcase their ability as well as provide opportunities for their players to be considered for both the 15U National Team and 14U and 17U National Team Development Programs.
Only 52 teams in each the 14U and 15U divisions and 72 teams in the 17U division are invited to play in this event, which is the main tournament each summer for players that are considered the top “prospects” in the nation by age group.
SPONSORED BY MLB
USA Baseball is sponsored by Major League Baseball (MLB) and leverages this event to develop a database of player names, addresses, profiles, and statistics (every game is scored by USA Baseball’s professional scorekeepers) that is given to the top colleges and professional scouting services in the nation.
Once you compete at this even, you are basically on the mailing lists that you need to be on as far as being notified of various college camps and recruitment events.
USA Baseball’s National Championships is one of the most competitive and demanding events of the year, with hundreds of college recruiters and pro scouts in attendance, though mostly at the 17U games.
GET ON THEIR RADAR, GET RECRUITED
At 14U and 15U, the players are basically just getting on the “radar screens” as “prospects” to be followed by scouts and recruiters through their high school careers. At 17U, the players are entering their prime recruiting year as they generally are high school players entering their junior or senior years and can signed.
