The 2024 SESBL AGM took place on Monday, April 27 from Tapps in Yorkton.
Unfortunately the Langenburg Legends will be taking a one year leave of absence, but will have the opportunity to re-join the league in 2025. The Roblin Stars will no longer be part of the league as it is their second year in a row not fielding a team.
The Saltcoats Lakers applied for and were accepted into the league, joining the Canora Supers, Parkland Pirates, and Yorkton Marlins. The Lakers will play out of Jubilee Park in Yorkton this summer as their home diamond at Saltcoats Regional Park is being refurbished. The field will be ready for the 2025 season. The four teams will each play a double home and home for 12 games. The regular season begins in mid May, and concludes at the end of June, with the rainout week taking place July 1-7.
Playoffs will start Monday July 8, with the #1 seed vs #4, and #2 vs #3. Each will be a best of three series scheduled with the goal finishing by Friday July 12. If inclement weather pushes a series back than the series will hopefully conclude on Monday July 15. The final will be a best of 5, and will start on Monday July 15 if both semis are finished the previous week. If Monday the 15th is needed to finish the semi than the final would start on Tuesday July 16. The final series is slated to conclude by July 24.
One thing to be added to the constitution is to make the lending of players an official option if the other team is short players. This is for the regular season only, and can only be done between the two competing teams. For example: If team B is playing team A, and team B is short one player, they can request to borrow a player from team A, but not team from C or D.
The regular season begins on Thursday May 16 in Yorkton as the Canora Supers visit the Parkland Pirates in a re-match of the 2023 finals. We hope to see you all at the park this summer
