RECORD (AS OF 6/20/07): 10-5-1

Thanks for visiting our team site. We hope to have an exciting and fun season.
We have a lot of work to do, as many of our young players have just moved up from the coach pitch league or, in some cases, have never played organized baseball at all!
They are all doing great and trying hard! Heck, we have even lost a player who got "drafted" to the major league level...GOOD LUCK NICK POW!
I know they will all show improvement by the end of the year (they already have). I hope they enjoy their time playing and have fun!

6/21 - Well the season is over for now...I want to thank all the kids and parents for a great year! Just think, come next year almost everyone will be returning...Lee Fire will have tons of experienced players!!! It should be another exciting year! Here are some interesting stats:

AT BATS: 588, HITS: 163, WALKS: 196, TEAM AVG: .416, TEAM ON-BASE %: .611, GROUND OUTS/POP OUTS: 60, STRIKEOUTS 162 (I WISH I KNEW HOW MANY SWINGING...BUT A LOT I AM GUESSING...GOOD JOB), RBI's: 150 (runs scored 188).

GREAT YEAR GUYS!!!
4/29 - Game 1 highlights - NIck Pow got our 1st hit of the season and Noah J started us off with 2 scoreless innings.
5/2 - Nick Roy pitched our 1st 1,2,3 all strike outs inning.
5/6 - 3rd inning has 11 batters up...9 runners score, win 11-5
5/8 - down 5-2 in the bottom of the 4th, Noah Hunter gets a bases clearing double, then Noah J and Nick P get 2 and 1 (respectively) RBI's to pull ahead 8-6 in the bottom of the 5th. Noah J then finishes with a 3 strikeout 6th
5/11 - Devyn Olds (Zabians) Hits an in the park homerun and a triple...we lose 4-1
5/15 - Noah Hunters 1st pitching experience = 3 straight strikeouts
5/18 - Nick Pow in the park homerun in his last minor league appearance.
5/22 - 1st inning Noah lest up 3 staright singles, then strikes out next 3 batters...scoreless inning (strikes out first 3 in the next inning). Noah J goes 4-4 and has 6 rbi's (happy b-day for his Dad) Matt L...gets called up from coach's pitch...gets a hit and scores a run
5/26 - Ryan Ruef gets first stolen base of the season...the follows up with an in the park home run...which is quickly followed by another homerun from Cav. Emerson W. has his first baseball game and gets 2 hits and scores both times.
5/30 - Well after a tough first three innings (15 runs on 3 hits) we managed to come back a little too late...Final score 16-12 after 5 innings (5th inning ended at 8:01...too late to start another). Our kids played GREAT though!...11 great hits,5 put-outs and even when we struck out 10 times...WE WENT DOWN SWINGING!!! GREAT GAME GUYS!!!
6/1 - Well the week of the full moon did us in!! You can pin this one on the COACH though...the kids played great...we even had a 10-4 lead after 3 1/2 innings. Hey...we had fun guys...not bad for only eight players!!! GUESS WHAT!? We found another pitcher..in his first game ever pitching, Emerson threw 2 excellent innings...2 hits, 2 walks, 6 strikeouts...no runs..GOOD JOB Emerson!!
6/7 - MOST EXCITING GAME OF THE YEAR!!!! I don't know what to say other than "Wow, Whew, Oh My God!!!" The Kids played great and SWUNG THE BAT....Thats why we play and they are all giving it 100%...We had 13 hits, which is the most of the year so far (11 in innings 3-6)...GREAT COMEBACK GUYS!!!
6/10 - What can I say...another up and down game...We had them until the sixth and then they got some timely hits to score 4.We did get our hits though...add another 12 to the stats...Keep Swinging Kids...it'll pay off in the end...You're all improving tremendously from the plate! We had 12 stikeouts as well...but only 4 looking...Go Down Swinging..you can't hit it if you don't swing!
6/13 - Woohoo back on the winning track! Great game folks! And guess what...Tessa had a birthday today...And got her first hit and RBI of the year...GREAT JOB TESSA!!!
6/18 - Great end to the "regular season"! We had 15 hits (tie for season high). Everyone was swinging!!! 7 of 9 got hits!! By the way...Ryan Ruef made his pitching debut in the last inning and did great...1 hit, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts (one to finish it with bases loaded!)Lets keep it going guys...

6/19 - Well we lost our playoff game 10-8...but not for lack of effort!! All of the kids played great and contributed! Whether it was backing up pitchers throws, earning a walk, getting a hit, or cheering on their teammates, they all were in the game!! It came right down to the end and we almost did it (4 runs in the bottom of the 6th). And guess what we did it swinging...Great hit Eliana!!! And Brodie finished of our season with a 2 runners on loaded strikeout...but guess what!??! HE WENT DOWN SWINGING!! That's what I asked of the kids and that's what they do...they swing when it's close....In the long run all of you will benefit more from that. Waiting for a walk doesn't give you that rush of hitting the ball (even if it's just a foul). You guys are a great bunch of kids, and no matter which level you are in next year, I know you will all do great!!! On a side note, we had 8 hits which drove in 7 RBI's...good job!...On the flip side the "other team" had 1 hit & 19 walks for 10 runs (2rbi's), although I believe our pitching did a whole lot better than that. Especially when you consider the ERA for the 3 pitchers who gave up runs was 1.467/inning going into that game (not that I am bitter hahaha!! :) )

GREAT JOB LEE FIRE CO.!!
