the associations that have players coming from out of district they have to check addresses of those players before they accept them in their tryouts ( they should check addresses anyway)

 

j) From September 1 to October 31, only players who do not have a team to play on in their home district are allowed to attend tryouts/skills camps outside their district of residence without a Cross Boundary Permit in place. Any player selected to an out of district team must apply for a Cross Boundary Permit after January 1st and before May 1st, and be approved, before resuming play with an out of district team.

 

 

ii) where a player provides sufficient justification supporting that there is clearly no team in the player’s District of residence at the desired category and classification, including supporting documents to show that they have been in touch with their District Minor Coordinator and all teams available to them in their District of residence, or where the player has received a written release from each and every association within the District of residence that offers a program in the applicable category/classification; and, has received written confirmation that a team in the desired District will consider registration of that player; and, has concurrence from the District Minor Coordinators in the outgoing and incoming Districts;

iii) where a release from each and every association of ability, and furthermore must offer any exigent or unusual circumstance that would afford the Cross Boundary Committee justification to award a Cross Boundary Permit notwithstanding that a release from an association(s) within the District of residence was not received. In such case the Cross Boundary Committee shall request a detailed account from the dissenting association(s) outlining the reasons for refusal of such a release.

 

1. You MUST tryout in your home district before you are able to attend any other district tryouts.
2. IF, at the tryout, there is NOT a team available to try out for or IF you get cut at the completion of your home district tryouts, ONLY at that time can you try out for another district.(after confirming with home association and district coordinator)
3. Article 12.6(j) Cross Boundary Permits

From September 1 – October 31      only players who do not have a team to play on in their home district are allowed to attend tryouts/skills camps outside their district……

4. If rules of #2 are followed and you then make a team from another district you must then apply for a cross boundary permit from your home district and the district wanting to play in. These permits will be reviewed after January 1, 2016 and ONLY at this time, once approved are you able to practice or have contact for the team you applied to play on.

NOTE: If you are found to be practicing with a team outside of your district, your cross boundary permit will be denied by Softball BC.

5. If you are found to have tried out for a team from another district prior to your own district tryouts, your permit will be denied by Softball BC.
6. If you are currently playing out of district on a realignment permit, that will remain valid unless you attend a different out of district tryout, permit will then be negated and you must start from scratch in your district that you reside in.

These rules will be strictly enforced by Softball BC this coming season so please make sure you fully understand the rules.
