TOKYO METROPOLIS MAGAZINE ARTICLE
Baseball:
The Tokyo Hammers were born out of frustration.
A group of baseball enthusiasts who were annoyed with teams that play as an excuse to booze and gamble formed the club in 2005.
The Hammers are always on the lookout for new members—the only requirement is that they have high school or college experience so they can handle fastballs of 75mph or more.
The team started out playing sandlot games but now concentrates on hardball matchups and tournaments.
Costs are limited to the jersey, game and equipment fees.

Tokyo Hammers Winners of the 2008 Yokohama Country & Athletic Club Hardball Tournament 1st Place Trophy!!!
Monday, September 15th 2008
On an overcast morning after days upon days of rain the Tokyo Hammers started calling Roark at 6am unsure of whether to even take such a long trek to Yokohama, things did happen and happen well.
In the first game at 10am the Tokyo Hammers took on the home team YC&AC and battled out a 9-6 victory to advance to the final against the Tokyo Eagles.
After a two hour wait for the winner of 3rd and 4th place to be decided the Tokyo Hammers defeated the Tokyo Eagles ending their 4 year run at being YC&AC tournament champions.
The Championship game was, as is usually so with the Tokyo Eagles, a nail bitter in which the winner was in question until the final out and the Tokyo Hammers were on the better end of a 7-5 score.
The Tokyo Eagles got an early 3-0 lead on some costly Tokyo Hammer errors but the Tokyo Hammers settled down and fought back and showed what they were made of to take the lead 5-4 in the top of the 6th. The Tokyo Eagles responded with an RBI triple to tie the game however the runner would be left standing there. In the top of the 7th the seesaw ended as the Tokyo Hammers too responded with the final and fatal 2 runs and the Tokyo Eagles had nothing left in the bottom of the 7th against the Tokyo Hammers tournament MVP Po-Hsun Song.
The Tokyo Hammers Management Would Like To Thank:
The YC&AC for inviting us to play in their tournament so rich in history, the Tokyo Eagles for suggesting us to Justin of the YC&AC management when he had a team cancel at the last minute and the home team of YC&AC for loaning us a couple of players for the second game.
And finally I would like to thank the Tokyo Hammers players for coming together on one weeks notice to play in this tournament.

[Ten] = You Really, Really Like This Site !!! Take Me Out To The Ballgame !!!
"Take me out to the ballgame,
Take me out with the crowd.
Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks,
I don't care if I ever get back,
Because it's root, root, root for the TOKYO HAMMERS,
If they don't win it's a shame.
For it's one, two, three strikes, you're out,
At the old ballgame."
