Posted Jul 27/24 - Pirates Capture 2024 Championship!

The Parkland Pirates are the 2024 SESBL champions with a 3 games to 1 final series win over the Canora Supers.

Game 1: Supers 4 Pirates 2, July 15 in Canora- Four Supers solo home runs (Palagian, Thorpe, Shewchuk, Rock) and a strong pitching performance from Kody Rock was the highlight of this game. Jordan Bieber threw 6 solid innings for the Pirates

Game 2: Pirates 2 Supers 0, July 18 in Yorkton - Evan McCubbing with the complete game shutout, and a couple of late clutch hits by Dylan Johnson and Spencer Phythian propelled the Pirates to victory. Kholton Shewchuk tossed 6 great innings but took the loss.

Game 3: Pirates 5 Supers 3, July 19 in Canora - Carter Phythian pitched the complete game to grab the win for the Pirates. A 3 run Pirates first inning set the tone. Kaden Smith with a home run. Rock threw well for the complete game but took the loss.

Game 4: Evan McCubbing with another well pitched complete game for the series clinching win. McCubbing, Smith, and Spencer Phythian each with a pair of hits to pace the offence. Rock and Derek Palagian with a pair of hits in defeat

The 2024 league final best of 5 series will be a re-match of 2023 as the Parkland Pirates will play the Canora Supers: The schedule so far is:

Game 1: Pirates at Supers Monday July 15 at 6:30 PM

Game 2 : Supers at Pirates Thursday July 18 at 8:15 PM (in Yortkon)

Game 3 : Pirates at Supers Friday July 19 at 6:30 PM (Umpires are available, good to go)

Game 4 : Supers at Pirates Monday July 22 at 8:15 PM (in Yorkton)

Game 5 : Pirates at Supers Tuesday July 23 at 6:30 PM

The SESBL playoffs will feature two best of 3 semi final series to start on Monday July 8.

Canora Supers vs Yorkton Marlins games are as follows:

Game 1 Monday July 8 at Canora 6:30 PM

Game 2 Wednesday July 10 at Yorkton 8 PM

Game 3 Friday July 12 at Canora 6:30 PM if necessary

Parkland Pirates vs Saltcoats Lakers:

The Canora Supers and Saltcoats Lakers will play a make up game in Yorkton on Friday July 5 at 6:30 pm.
