Game
Notes:
The Thunder offense pounded out 15 hits to beat Victoria, 11-3. After starter Alex Johnson left the game with injury in the first, "Easy" Eddie Hagberg came on to pitch brilliantly to earn his first win of the season. In his season debut, Hagberg (1-0) went six near-perfect innings, yielding one infield hit and striking out two on just 48 pitches. Hagberg retired 18 of the 19 batters he faced. Trailing 3-0 after the first inning, the Thunder rallied for two in the second. Chad Eul (3RS) had a one-out extra base hit and scored on Jared Johnson's single. Hagberg helped his own cause by hitting an RBI double to the gap in right center, cutting the deficit to 3-2. As Hagberg and the Thunder defense continued to shut down Victoria, the offense came alive in the final three frames, scoring nine runs. Eul tripled and scored in the fourth; in the fifth, Beau Jacobson led off with a single followed by Josh "Future" Retka's double. Andy Cutter (3RBI) hit a run-scoring single, and Eul was hit by a pitch, loading the bases. Jared Johnson (3RBI) knocked in two with a single, and Brad Langrebe hit a two-run double and scored on Derek Jacobson's triple. Once again, the five through nine hitters came up big, going a combined 10-for-16 with each player getting two hits each. The Thunder (5-1 in league play, 6-3 overall) faces cross-town rival Apple Valley in a doubleheader Wednesday.
