Notes:
The Thunder (0-0, 1-0) began its 2008 campaign by thumping Richfield 15-0 at Donaldson Field Wednesday. Righthander Spencer Pratt (1-0) pitched three scoreless innings to pick up the victory. Casey Jacobson (2K) and Andy Dziekan each threw an inning of scoreless, hitless relief. Dziekan struck out the side in the fifth. The Thunder offense pounded out 10 hits, but were nicked by 4 HBP, including two for lead-off hitter Pete Zukanoff (RS,SB,SAC,RBI), and one for Andy Gensch (BB,RS).Joel Bertelsen (RS) and Dan Coyle (RS,RBI) had two hits apiece, with Bertelsen driving in three. Robbie Sikich (HP,RS) added two RBI and threw out a would-be base-stealer. Middle infield tandem Sam Foy (2BB,SB) and Tom Bauer (21B,RBI) each scored three runs. Cory Meyer, nursing a knee injury, lined a pinch-hit single in his lone plate appearance. In total, the Thunder offense had 23 baserunners in five innings. The club has the weekend off before beginning division play Monday against Eagan under the lights at Legion Field in Apple Valley.
