The Cardinals took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning, with the teams trading runs into the third inning tied at 2-2. But in the 4th inning, Spruce Grove scored three times times to take the lead, and managed to shut down the Cardinals for the rest of the game to preserve the 5-2 final score. Spruce Grove is the only team other than the Cardinals to win this tournament in its six year history, making it the second DeVries title for the Sox.
