Just letting everyone know on Friday June 12th at 615pm the Willowbrook Royals ball game will be in honour of the late John Krasowski, there will be a jersey presentation before the game to his family, for all John gave to our team and community. He meant alot to royals as a player, coach , and long time fan! Please share!

As a Member of the Melville Bison Jordan Sinclair was making a play on a fly ball to right field. When he went for the ball he landed awkwardly and broke his tibia and was rushed to Regina by ambulance.

After much deliberation, the Canora Supers have had to close up shop for the remainder of the season. It was a difficult decision, but the player availability is not there to finish the season. They hope to return to the league next year.

The Big Moose Baseball Tournament is split between Kenosee lake and Carlyle. It will be on July 2 , 3 and 4. The entry fee is 400. There is a home run derby on Sat evening, along with a beer gardens throughout the weekend. If anyone has questions they can call me at 577 9401 or email back. Like I said we are looking for 16 and as of right now we have room for about three more teams.

The Yorkton E & S Yankees took on the Yorkton Jr Cardinals in South East Senior Baseball League action at Jubilee Park Thursday May 20th. The Jr squad came out on top of a 4 – 0 score in a hard fought contest. Winning pitcher was Dane Kobylko with Travis Nesbitt coming on in relief. Darren Wandy took the loss as he pitched a complete game registering 8 strikeouts. Cardinal runs were scored by Kobylko, Poier, Sharp and Jacobs. They outhit the Yankees 8 – 2. Calanchie, Kobylko and Stilborn each had two hits for the Cardinals while Sharp and Nesbitt each had one. The Yankees hits came from the bats of Derek Kohut and Ryan Neal.

The Parkland Padres, win there very 1st game in the SESBL. This was a very entertaining game vs The Willowbrook Royals. The Padres used aluminum bats, both teams played a rover on the team, and used everybody bats and unlimited substitution.

Wednesday May 19 saw the Melville Bison visit the Yorkton E & S Yankees with the Yankees coming out on top of a 12 to 1 score. Starting pitcher Tyrel Thorpe earned the first ever win for the newly formed Yankee squad with a complete game performance. Jarett Waldbauer was tagged with the loss for the Bison. Thorpe gave up one earned run on 4 Melville hits and no walks while striking out 4. The Yankees generated 13 hits while leaving only 6 stranded runners. Offensively lead off batter Kurt Karcha went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored, Mackenzie Unyi was 1 for 3 with one walk, one run scored and one RBI, Derek Kohut went 1 for 3 with a walk, two runs scored and one RBI, Ryan Neal 2 for 3 with one walk, 2 RBI’s and three runs scored. Tyrel Thorpe helped his own cause by going 1 for 3 at the plate, scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 runs. Rounding out the offense was Evan Wasylyniuk going 1 for 3 with one walk and 2 RBI’s, Garrett Karcha who went 2 for 4 with one run scored and one RBI, Kurtis Chupa with 2 singles and one RBI and Eric Tutossi with a base on balls, one run scored and one RBI.
