West Palm Beach, FL---LaShonda Gaines led the Fort Lauderdale Lions with 27 points to defeat expansion team Palm Beach Sabers on Saturday afternoon at the Salvation Army in West Palm Beach, FL. After suffering their first defeat last weekend, the Lions bounced backed, showed great poise, and corralled a 76-51 victory with key players absent from their lineup. |

Hollywood, FL---After a rocky start in last week's season opener, the Lions found their groove against the Florida Knighthawks to advance to 2-0 on the season. Last year the Lions topped the century mark against the Knighthawks on a 102-84 final score. This year that goal was achieved by both teams, but the Lions came out victorious 101-100 in overtime. |

Hollywood, FL---The Fort Lauderdale Lions won their season opener against Brevard Flame on Saturday night 61-49. There were a lot of kinks for the Lions to iron out, as it was evidenced by their 26 turnovers. Somehow the Lions managed to hold a narrow margin of lead and finally held off the Flame to finish their first game with a victory. |

Miami Lakes, FL--After coming off an upset win Saturday evening against Fayetteville Lady Rush, the Fort Lauderdale Lions looked to do it all over again Sunday morning as they took on the St. Louis Surge. The length of the Surge did not seem to be an issue in the opening moments of the game, but down the stretch it became a major defect for the Lions. The score remained close throughout the game, with the Lions having the largest lead of 8 points on a 43-35 halftime score. |

8/4/12 Miami Lakes, FL--After defeating conference mate FL Knighthawks at 8am Saturday morning, the Lions advanced to the National quarter final round to take on the Lady Rush out of Fayetteville, NC at 4pm. This was an even match-up, as both teams thrive on running the basketball. It was going to come down to who had some gas left in the tank. |

8/4/12 Miami Lakes, FL--In the first round of the WBCBL's National Tournament, the Fort Lauderdale Lions took on fellow conference mate, FL Knighthawks. Both teams kicked off the tournament in early fashion style having played the tourney's first game at 8am Saturday morning. "There is no time for excuses, we have to play this game as if it were 5 o'clock in the evening," said head coach Albert Conner of the Lions. |
