| Steve Johnston lead off the 3rd inn VS the Padres at Del Sol H.S. Sunday June, 5 2011 with a Double to collect his career 300th hit for the Sandvipers. Johnstons double was hit into the right center gap and places the Sandvipers career plate appearence leader in the 300 hit club. Sandvipers win the game when Ryan Baugbe doubled to lead off the 8th inning and Justin Hicks followed with a 1 Ball 2 Strike 2 Run Homerun to walk off the Padres. Hicks has a monster day going 2 for 4 with 4 RBIs. Nick Ward picks up the win on his first time on the mound for the Vipers. In the win Kyle Clarkes scoreless inning streak ended at 24 innings. Clarke gave up a lead off solo home run in the 7th inning to end the run. Great run by Kyle, pitching through adversity and shutting down some solid line ups. Next game 6/12/11 vs the rival Nevada Yankees at Western High School at 1pm. |
