MOUNT VERNON � Brian Vermeulen went 4-for-4 with two triples, a double and four RBIs to help the Mount Vernon 15- and-16-year-old VFW baseball team to a 15-0 win over Alexandria/Emery in four innings Wednesday night.
Justin Davis went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and Deric Denning had a pair of RBIs for Mount Vernon.
Denning also earned the win after tossing four innings and allowing one hit and striking out nine.
Wade Miller took the loss for Alexandria/Emery.
Mount Vernon won the 13-14 year-old game 12-2 in four innings.
On Tuesday, Mount Vernon�s 15-16 year-olds beat Scotland 6-5.
Davis threw all seven innings and allowed four hits and three earned runs while striking out six.
Davis also went 3-for-4 at the plate and Denning had a pair of hits.
Dalton Mogck went 3-for-3 and hit a 3-run home run to lead Scotland. Mogck also took the loss. He allowed five earned runs on eight hits.
Mount Vernon won the 13-14 year-old game 9-4. |
