| Well, it was a fantastic summer type
evening at Robert Burnaby Park. As I have been overseas during the last
month, I understand that weather conditions have been not very
favorable!! We came out of the gate with a good first inning, scoring four runs that ended up being good enough for the win.......very fortunate with a 2 run error to make things easier! The Monarchs did battle back to get within one run but the Buzz put together a two run eighth adding to the lead going into last bats for Richmond Overall, it was an great TEAM effort to give us the win with Dan J putting his HOT bat to good use. Peter L. coming in to relieve Wardo, since Rod V. is AWOL........ and Tony M. has lost his back-up catcher to keep him off the bump. I think we rolled 3 or four double plays to help our cause! A few hilarious notes in the game was Dave Mac switching sides to the left and coming up with a solid single up the middle after being PLUNKED in the 2nd.......it was an offspeed pitch on the arm where we thought we might have to call in the EMS but he seemed to think he could switch to alleviate the major pain....???? Also, after chucking five strong innings, Ward went out to center field and thought he had full bleachers, cause as a deep fly ball came his way, he decided to wave frantically to the ghostly fans. All kidding aside, I think the Buzz put in a real strong effort!! |
