MOUNT VERNON � The Mount Vernon 15- and 16-year-old teener baseball team defeated Lyman 12-6 Monday.
Charlie Mahaffey threw 5 1/3 innings, allowing six hits, four earned runs, four walks and he struck out four.
Offensively for Mount Vernon, Mahaffey went 3-for-3, Cody Renken went 2-for-4 with an RBI, Justin Davis went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, Deric Denning was 4-for-5 with four RBIs and Joe Davis was 1-for-2 with an RBI.
Lyman�s Dylan Severyn took the loss. He threw four innings and allowed 11 hits, eight earned runs, six walks and he struck out two.
Charlie Laroche was 2-for-4 with an RBI, Cade Johnson was 1-for-4 with a double and two RBIs and Ryder Schurtor was 1-for-4 with an RBI.
Mount Vernon is 19-3 and plays Alexandria/Emery on Wednesday in Alexandria. The 13- and 14-year-old game starts at 5:30 p.m. |
