The Saskatoon Stallions won Jr. AAA Provincials, an 8 team tournament held in Yorkton, Sk over the long weekend. The team made up of Jr. aged players from around the league, captured the title beating the Regina Red Sox in the Gold Medal game and move on to represent Saskatchewan at Canadian Nationals in Windsor, ON later this month. The Saskatoon Dodgers finished 3rd with a 5-3 win over the Yorkton Cardinals in the Bronze Medal game and will represent Saskatchewan at the Western Canadian Championships in Winnipeg, MB.
The Marysburg Royals won SR. AA provincials hosted in Saskatoon. They beat Lloydminster in the final game 4-1 to capture their first SR. AA provincial championship in their 93rd yr of existence. Bevan ledingham pitched a gem in the final game, throwing a complete game 4 hit masterpiece. Clutch hits by Braden Bauml, Luke Strueby and Dustin Emberley got the Royals runs when needed. The Royals will represent Saskatchewan at the Western Canadian Baseball Championships held in Trail, B.C. on August 25th - 28th. |
