The regular season is in the books for the Buzzards, with a 10-5 win over the Legends at Robbie Burn. Warm day, our pitching was solid again, from Rod, Tony and Ward, in that order. Our pitching staff, which also includes Pete Langford, held opposing hitters to a .260 batting average this season, and gave us a chance to win most games. We've also shown pretty dependable defence. This time, there was more run support on the table...keyed by a 4 run 7th inning. Dave Mac, Tony Maz and Darren Turik helped spark the offence, with Wardo adding a double to left. Jack Allen also delivered something we've been craving as a team...a bases loaded Ribbie! Buzzards, with the victory, finish above .500 at 8-7-1, a nice bounceback season. On to the playoffs now... in what's been an extremely tight division this year. (Practise Wednesday at 6 at Robert Burnaby) |
