Charleston Trojans jumped out to an early lead on Landsharks and captured a 13-1 win and a tournament Championship Sunday in N. Charleston. Patrick Dizon hurled four complete innings of errorless baseball allowing 1 run on 3 hits. Dizon had his stuff walking only one and striking out one Landshark for the final out.
An RBI single by Hickman and a groundout RBI by Mikell during the first inning and a three-run-in-the-park homerun by Ahearn in the second supplied the early offense the Charleston Trojans needed for the win. Ahearn racked up three RBIs on two hits.
The final blow came in the 3rd inning as the Trojans plated 8 runs. A bases loaded walk scored Hickman to start the scoring. That was followed by TK King' single plating Jackson White and John Mikell. The Trojans snagged 13 runs on 8 hits. The 4 deadly Landshark errors allowed more runs than the Trojans deserved.
The Global NIT in N. Charleston was the first tournament the Charleston Trojans have won this spring. |
