The Jayhawks sprinted out to a 10-1 first inning lead and never looked back as they defeated the Camas Aqua Sox 15-1 in a league contest at Fort Vancouver High School. After surrendering a run in the top of the first, the Jayhawks responded with a huge bottom of the first inning in the route.
Andy Johnson pitching four innings, giving up just two hits to pick up his first win of the season. Zach Smith relieved him and pitched one inning, giving up no runs and striking out one.
With the win, the Jayhawks improved to 8-1 on the season, 4-0 in league play. They will return to action this Thursday against league rival, the Vancouver Redbirds. |
