Campbellsville University added its third baseball recruit for 2011, Tanner Scott of Portland, Ore. Scott, a 5-foot-9, 175-pound infielder, prepped at Westview High School.

" Tanner is a quality baseball player, who comes from a high school power in Portland, Oregon. He is versatile in that he can play all infield position, defensively very strong and has great character," CU assistant coach Chris Lewis said. "He is very refined as a hitter for a high school player. Expect him to have a significant role for the Tigers in 2011."

As a sophomore in 2008, Scott was voted most improved player in the spring and went on a hitting campaign to lead the team in batting and slugging percentage during that summer season. His junior year continued to produce at the plate, as he started at third base. During his high school career, he traveled with Metro Baseball Academy and Mound Time Baseball, based out of Portland. He also played in the Arizona Fall Invitational with the Sacramento, Calif., based Baseball Mentoring Program managed by Jalal Leach.

Entering his senior year at Westview, Tanner has once again set goals of leading the team defensively and at the plate.

Scott was born July 27, 1992 in
Anchorage, AK. His parents are Matthew and Shelly Scott and he has two younger sisters: Maddie (15) and Joceline (7). Aside from baseball, his hobbies include playing recreational sports and spending time with friends.
