Former All-State pitcher and Kentucky Wildcat Sean Bouthilette has committed to Campbellsville University for the 2011 season. Bouthilette, a week-day starter and reliever at UK, is the 23rd signee for the Tigers' recruiting class and first NCAA Division I transfer.

"I don't think I've ever been as anxious to get them all together," CU head coach Beauford Sanders said of his recruiting class. "(Sean's) a good athlete. He's definitely going to be a big plus and positive impact for us … When we talked to the staff at Kentucky, they had nothing but good things to say about him."

Bouthilette appeared in six games for the Wildcats in 2010, starting in two. His longest start of the season was a March 30 win at the University of Cincinnati. He went six innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on three hits and a walk.

As a freshman at UK in 2009, he threw 17.1 innings with nine appearances and five starts. He tossed five shutout innings in the Wildcats' second game of the year, his first collegiate start en route to an 8-3 Kentucky win. His only other win came March 17, 2009, in relief at the University of New Orleans, as he struck out two through 1 1/3 innings and did not allow a base runner for the 5-4 win.

Over his two-year career in Lexington, Bouthilette held a 3-1 record with a 7.64 ERA. He allowed 35 runs, 28 earned, off 49 hits and 11 walks. He pitched 33 innings in 15 appearances and had an opponents' batting average of .345.

Before UK, he was a two-time All-State pitcher at Elizabethtown High School, where he posted a 1.07 ERA and 8-2 record as a senior and a 0.43 ERA and 10-2 record as a junior. Over the two years, he struck out 195 batters in 130 2/3 innings of work. During his four-year varsity career for Coach Don Pitts, Bouthilette compiled a 30-8 record and struck out 301 batters in 226 2/3 innings.

The former Elizabethtown star could also hit, leading the Panthers to three district titles. During his senior year of high school, he hit .346 with 11 doubles, three home runs, 18 RBI and stole 29 bases. During three years as a position player, he swiped 82 bases.
