The Chanhassen Red Birds (Class C team) beat the Shalopee Indians (Class B Team) by a score of 6 - 0 on Saturday, May 7th.  With Highway 101 reopened, it was easy for the Chanhassen Red Birds to make the trip to Schleper Field in Shakopee for a non-league game against the Shakopee Indians on Saturday, May 7th.

The Red Birds held the Indians scoreless behind the pitching of Adam Heitz and Justin Thompson. 

With the win, the Red Birds enter the River Valley League schedule with a record of 2 - 2.  The Sunday RVL game, May 8th, scheduled at Winthrop, was postponed due to wet field conditions in Winthrop.  A make-up game will be scheduled later in the season.

WEBSTER SOX VISIT RED BIRDS - The next game for the Red Birds is a non-league game scheduled for Saturday, May 14th against the Webster Sox at Storm Red Bird Stadium for a 7:30 PM start.

HOME LEAGUE OPENER - SUNDAY MAY 15th - The River Valley League HOME OPENER for the Red birds is Sunday, May 15th, for a 2:00 PM start against the Jordan Brewers.  this game is Little League recognition Game.  All Little League players in uniform will get Free Addmission and a Free Bag of Popcorn.   The National Anthem will be sung by "JAM", a group of young music and dramatic performers from Westwood Community Church in Chanhassen.
