St. Martin scored seven runs in the eighth inning in route to an 11-0 victory over the Flames on a beautiful and sunny day in Farming.
Farming kept this game close right up into the eighth inning. However, we could only muster three hits against some good St. Martin pitching. Ian Hoffarth, Greg Holthaus, and Zac Posterick had the Flames' hits, while starter Brent Mergen pitched seven good innings.
The ballpark looks great, thanks to the efforts of many in the community. Congratulations to you all -- the results of your work will be enjoyed by baseball fans for many years to come. Elmer Schleper threw out the first pitch.
The Flames travel to New Munch on Sunday for a 1:30pm matchup with the Silverstreaks. |
