Farming struggled in the field on Sunday as the Flames lost a home tilt to Spring Hill 13-3 in eight innings. Spring Hill scored in each of the first four innings to take an early lead.
On the bright side of things, the Flames got the bats going after suffering two consecutive shutouts last weekend. John Theis drove in a first inning run, and Greg Holthaus hammered a two-run homer in the fith. Greg finished the game 1 for 2 with a HR and walk, while John went 2 for 4 with an RBI. Brent Mergen, Zach Posterick, and Craig Klein had the other hits for Farming, with Zach and Craig each scoring a run.
On the mound, Craig Rausch started for Farming, with Brent Mergen and John Theis pitching in relief. The loss leaves the Flames 1-4 in the SCL South Division.
Next week, the Flames host St. Wendel in an exhibition game on Friday 6:30pm, before hosting Meire Grove on Sunday 1:30pm. |
