Greenwald broke open a tie game with two runs in the seventh inning, to defeat the Flames 5-2, at Farming.
The Flames bats managed seven hits against Cubs pitching. Craig Klein hit a solo shot in the fourth inning, and Chris Wehseler added another in the sixth to account for both Farming runs. Chris went 3 for 4 on the afternoon, and Kazz Ellinger had a double. The Flames did threaten late, but left the bases loaded in the eighth inning.
Brent Mergen started on the mound and pitched the first six innings, allowing two runs on one hit. Brad Mergen took the loss, surrounding a couple of runs on a bloop single in the seventh, and another in the eighth.
The Flames host New London-Spicer on Friday at 6:30pm, and then travel to Roscoe on Sunday for a 1:30pm game against the Rangers. |
