Posted Jul 16/12 - Defining Week for Red Birds

The next five days of July will provide some “Definable Moments” for the Red Birds and our fans. Here’s why.

STANDINGS ..

Over the weekend, the Red Birds lost a heartbreaker to Le Sueur Braves by a score of 4-3 in 12 innings. That gave Le Sueur an edge on the Red Birds in the Central Division standings for the time being. Then on Saturday, the Red Birds traveled to New Ulm and beat the Kaiserhoff by a score of 19-5 in 7 innings. That gave the Red Birds a 5-1 record against the West Division of the River Valley League. Yesterday, Le Sueur played Arlington A’s and LOST. That means that Le Sueur finished with a 4-2 record against the West Division.

Le Sueur currently has a record of 9-4 in the Central Division, and the Red Birds are 9-3, in second place behind Jordan at 11-0.

THEREFORE – If Chanhassen can beat both Jordan and Le Sueur this week, the Red Birds will host a first round game on Wednesday, July 25th. The most important game is the Le Sueur game, because even with a loss to Jordan on Thursday, a win over Le Sueur on Friday gives Chanhassen the #2 seed for the playoffs.

GAMES THIS WEEK ..

Tuesday night, Red Birds visit Glencoe Brewers for a 7:30 game at Vollmer Field. Earlier this year, Red Birds beat Glencoe 13 – 9. the Brewers will be out to get even for sure.

Thursday night, Red Birds host the Jordan Brewers, Division Leader, for a match up that could be a prelude to the Central Division Title game. Chanhassen Historical Society is the Volunteer organization that will be Hosting the game and the Musical Group “Front Line” from Westwood Church will perform the National Anthem. It’s also Klein Bank Prize Drawing night.

Friday night – FAN APPRECIATION GAME .. The Final game of the Regular season for the Red Birds as they host the Le Sueur Braves in a critical Division contest. Game time is 7:30 PM. Bring the whole family for a fun outing. Let’s BREAK the ATTENDANCE record, and everybody wear Red and White. The game will also include:

  • Sponsorship by LIFETIME FITNESS with Free Ice Cream from Culvers; Free Passes from Lifetime Fitness, Raffle drawings for FREE 3-Month Pass to Lifetime Fitness.
  • First pitch thrown by Chanhassen’s New U.S Congressmen, Erik Paulson and by State Senator Julianne Ortman
  • National Anthem performed by Ms. Lynn Pauly
  • Season Ticket Holder Premium game
  • And Much More Fun ….
