Farming put together an impressive performance on Sunday afternoon, defeating St. Martin 6-1 at Farming. This was the first SCL game of the season for both clubs.
Veteran Craig Klein had a double and home run to lead the offense. Newcomer Randy Lockridge, who played with Avon the past few seasons, had two hits including a double. Farming scored three runs in the first inning to get off to an excellent start.
On the mound, Craig Rausch started and pitched four scoreless innings, allowing four hits. Zach Posterick followed for three innings, earning the win while surrendering just one run on two hits. Chad Mergen pitched the final two innings, allowing no runs on one hit.
Farming (1-0 SCL, 1-0 overall) hosts Richmond next Sunday at 1:30pm. The snow has finally gone, so its time to get out and cheer on the local nine.
