Capital City vs Budd Bay Rockies
Capital City started out the Lacey tournament against the Budd Bay Rockies. Scoring early and going up 6-2 after two innings on Trent Hardin and Connor Goff base hits. The bats slowed down after that and Ben DeSaulnier came in for the Save for the Black Sox, making the final 7-5 in the opener.
Capital City vs Capital City Halos
In the battle of the Capitals, the Black Sox started off with a DeSaulnier triple and followed that with an RBI single from Hardin. The game stayed 1-0 going into the fourth inning with outstanding pitching from Connor Suing. In the top of the fourth Capital City busted it open with a key two-out hit by Trent Hardin making the score 4-0 and then Cyrus Mooney followed that up with an RBI single to make it 5-0. The Halos came back in the bottom of the fourth and scored three runs of Capital City miscues to make the score 5-3 going into the fifth. Cody Ratliff scored on a Zach Hammerschmith hit to extend the lead for the Black Sox; Ben DeSaulnier then came in again to close the door and give the Black Sox the 6-4 win.
Capital City vs Capitol Stingers
Capital City went through the lineup… almost three times… in the first inning. 23 of the first 25 batter scored for the Black Sox as this game and they were just as good on the mound, giving up no hits between Ratliff, Jordan Barchus, and Hardin. Capital City finished the game 27-1 and won their pool moving into bracket play. |
