The Flames lost another tough-luck decision on Sunday, losing 3-2 to Spring Hill. Brad Mergen started for the Flames and limited Spring Hill to just three hits; however, walks and a couple of Flames errors allowed the Chargers to scratch out three runs.
After eight scoreless innings, the Flames got a big rally going in the ninth. They scored two runs and had two runners on base when the third out was recorded. Shoot!
Mergen had 10 strikeouts for the Flames, and Zack Posterick added three more. The 13 strikeouts is a season high for Flames pitching.
The Flames travel to Elrosa next Sunday, June 6, for a game against the Saints. Gametime is 1:30pm. |
