St. Augusta scored in each inning as the home Gussies defeated the Flames 12-9 in a seven-inning non-league game on Wednesday night.

The Flames scored seven runs in one of the strangest innings of the season.  Ryan Schleper and Chad Mergen started the inning with walks, and advanced on a passed ball.   Josh Linn was hit by a pitch.  Brent Mergen hit into a fielder's choice with Schleper scoring, and Chad Mergen also scores on a wild throw to first.  Brent Mergen advanced to third on a wild pitch, then scored on another wild pitch.  Zach Posterick walked, stole second and third, then scored on a wild pitch.  Matt Blackmore walked.  After a strikeout, John Thein singled to right.  Derrick Roush walked to load the basis.  Aaron Nett walked, with Blackmore scoring.  Kyle Lieser walked, with Thein scoring.  Chad Mergen was hit a pitch, driving in Roush.  Summary: seven runs, one hit, seven walks, two HBP, multiple wild pitches/passed balls, an error, and three pitchers. 

The Flames host the Richmond Royals on Sunday at 1:30pm.  We could use a win over the Royals and we could use a boisterous Farming crowd.  Come out and cheer the guys on as they start the second half of the league season.
