The Royals got off to a quick lead and made it stand as they defeated the Flames 7-0 on Sunday afternoon, in Farming. Farming had a couple of runners as far as third base, and had a double play snuff out another rally, but were unable to score on the afternoon. The Flames had a total of six hits.
Zach Posterick started for Farming and pitched the first two innings. Aaron Nett relieved for six innings, and Ryan Schelper pitched the ninth.
The Flames have two non-league home games this week. On Wednesday, the Paynesville Pirates are here, and on Friday the St. Nicholas Nicks travel to our place. Both games start at 6:15pm.
Next Sunday, June 20, the Flames travel to Roscoe to meet the Rangers at 1:30pm. In spite of our recent losing streak, we trail the Rangers by only one game for the final playoff spot. So a win on Sunday would be a big one -- and it'd help to have a bosterous Farming crowd out to the Roscoe ballpark on Father's Day.
