Avon scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth to edge the Flames 7-6 in a hard-fought and competitive game played at Avon.

Farming scored first in the fourth inning when both Ryan Schleper and Chad Mergen produced run scoring singles.  The Flames added a single run in the fifth off Derrick Roush's double, then plated three more in the seventh.  Ian Hoffarth was hit by a pitch, and Zach Posterick singled.  Derrick walked to load the bases.  John Thein hit a slow roller to first, with both Ian and Zach scoring.  Aaron Nett struck out but reached safely on a passed ball, scoring Derrick.

The Flames used five pitchers in the game.  John Theis went the first three, Chad Mergen the next three, and Ian, Ryan, and Zach pitched an inning each. 

The last league home game of the season takes place this Sunday, July 11, versus Meire Grove.  Gametime is 1:30pm.  We need a good crowd out at the ballpark on Sunday; a win would clinch the final playoff spot (as would a Roscoe loss at Richmond on Saturday).  Hope to see everyone there.
