After the holiday break the Rockford River Bandits took on the Delano A's and won in extras 3-2.

Jason Lesser was the starting hurler and went the distance for his fourth win of the season. Lesser pitched ten innings giving up six hits and one walk. He also struck out five A's batters. The only two Delano runs were scored off of a two-run homerunin the 3rd.

The Rockford hitters managed to bang out 10 hits. Ben Fontana, Cody Kielsa, Bryan McCallum, and Anthony Brenner all got two hits on the night. Haven Williams and Tom Traen added one hit each.

With two outs in the sixth Williams got a single. Brenner then followed up with a two run homerun to tie the game. The score remained 2-2 until the top of the tenth when Traen gets a base hit off the pitcher's foot. Fontana and Kielsa each drew walks to load the bases with one out. Traen will then score on a wild pitch. In the bottom half of the tenth Delano's lead-off guy gets a base hit after a ball took a bad hop over shortstop Donnie Mavencamp's head. The next batter put down the sacrifice moving the runner to second. Lesser then issues his only walk of the night, but then was able to bear down and get the next two hitters to pop up and end the game.

Rockford's next game will be at Maple Lake on Friday, July 10th at 7:30pm.
