Unsung HEROES Save the Day!

Posted April 1, 2012

It was a day where many PeeWee and Bantam baseball games were played, and although the games are about the players, there were many unsung heroes that may have gone unnoticed during the day.  A special thanks goes out to the group of determined and dedicated Cloverdale parents and volunteers who worked their tails off to get all the rain covered baseball fields playable, so the teams and players could get some baseball games in.

Due to the many rained out games on Saturday the Cloverdale organizing committee had to scrap the Championship game but did their best to get each team a couple of games.  At the end of the day the unsung hereos were the real winners, your hard work did not go unnoticed and your efforts saved the Jamboree.

Mounties 9 Ridge Royals 0
On Sunday the Mounties scored 4 in the 1st and reached the maximum runs allowed when Espig hit a 3 run homer to the deepest part of the field.  The Mounties went on to score 5 more in the contest and coasted to a 9 - 0 shutout win over the Ridge Royals.  The Mountie pitching and defence were solid and offensively 7 different Mountie batters combined for 11 hits in the contest.
