Just Another SATURDAY IN THE PARK for Mounties

Posted April 7, 2012

The Vancouver Mounties won both their games Saturday in the Park at Bird Field.  The Ice Breaker tournament is in full swing and the weather so far has been great.

The Mounties made short work of the Kamloops Riverdogs in their morning game ending the game in 5 innings with a 11 - 0 mercy victory.  In the evening mattinee the game also ended by the mercy rule when the Mounties ended the game in the bottom of the 6th inning when they scored 5 runs to defeat the Cloverdale Red Spurs team by a 14 - 4 score.

The Mounties bats were smoking as the cumulative hit toal of the day was 23 including 3 homeruns.  Mountie pitchers combined to give up 7 hits in the two games.  The Mountie Defence turned 2 double plays and the Mounties also threw out one runner trying to steal.
