Mounties SWEEP all 4 Games in Victoria
Posted April 29, 2012
On Sunday the Mounties beat the Black Eagles in the first game by a 12 to 2 score. The Mounties were primed to win the last game but the Black Eagles had different ideas. After the Mounties took a 1 - 0 lead in the top of the first the Black Eagles answered back with 3 runs in the bottom of the inning to take the momentum and a 3 - 1 lead.
The game stayed scoreless for the next 2 innings as both starting pitchers Soper and Seginowich settled in. The Mounties were able to get 1 back in the top of the 4th to close the gap to 3 - 2.
The Eagles were looking to extend their lead in the bottom of the 4th but the Mounties thwarted the attempt when they threw out a player at the dish and struck out the next batter to end inning and the Eagle threat. The Mounties used this as a rallying point and ended up taking the lead for good when they finally were able to solve the Eagles starter and scored 5 in the 5th inning to take a 7 - 3 lead.
Both teams put up 2 spots in the 6th and the Mounties closed out the scoring with 2 in the 7th to complete the 11 - 5 comeback win against the gritty Black Eagles ball club.
