Underdog Mounties set to face Cloverdale Black Dream Team!
Posted May 6, 2012
The Vancouver Mounties will be in a different role then they are accustomed to on Tuesday evening when they face the league leading Cloverdale Black Spurs at Cloverdale Ball Park. The undefeated Spurs who have looked invincible so far this season lead the league in all categories with 12 wins, most runs scored 150, and the stingiest defence only giving up an unheard of 17 runs in 12 games for a 1.42 runs allowed average per game. sic
The Dream Team as some in the league refer to them as, was put together last fall with some careful maneuvering within the B.C. Minor rules by the Cloverdale braintrust. The team has a staggering amount of experience with 9 veteran AAA players leading the way. Led by their crusty veteran Manager John Parker, well travelled coaches Watkins and Thompson, plus the energetic rookie coach Mazer this team seems to have it all, and on paper seems to be unbeatable.
The Mounties who have won 9 in a row after losing their season opener know that they will have to be at their best and that might not even be enough to put a chink in the armour of the Dream Team. Game time is 6:00 in Cloverdale and the admission is free. Might not be able to predict a winner but one thing for sure both teams will come out swinging and looking to deliver the knockout punch which should make for an exciting evening of B.C. Minor Bantam AAA Baseball.
