Sengara opened the 5th with a single and Caine sac bunted him to 2nd and Espig with 2 strikes singled to score Sengara. The Mounties sensing the upset manufactured an insurance run in the 6th when Hirakawa -Kao beat out an infield single, stole 2nd, was sac bunted to 3rd by Wright and then scored when Soper with 2 outs legged out an infield hit. That was all Nesplak needed as he closed out the game pitching 3 and 2/3 shutout Innings and hitless ball striking out 8 Black Spur batters.
The Mounties doubled the Spurs in the hit total 10 to 5. The Mounties had runners on every inning but the Spurs continued to play good defence making some tough plays and forced the Mounties to leave 10 men on the base paths in the contest. Although the Mounties prevailed on the evening they still trail the Spurs in the standings as the 12 and 1 Spurs win percentage is .923 and the Mounties with a record of 10 and 1 have a win percentage of .909.
