Mauston Axemen vs. Kendall

The Mauston Axemen hosted Kendall on Wednesday evening. Both teams are in their first year of existence, and are still building their programs. Kendall jumped to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first, but the Axemen answered with 3 runs of their own. Dustin Manthe started on the bump for the Axemen. He threw 3 innings, allowed 3 hits and 2 runs, walked one batter, and struck out 7. Manthe got the Axemen off to a great start holding Kendall to 2 runs, and allowing the offense to work its magic. The Axemen scored 13 runs in the first 3 innings of the ball game. Adam Ryan, Brandon Nielsen, and Kenny Waukau came in as relief pitchers. Combined they gave up 6 runs in 4 innings of play. The game got called after 7 complete innings due to darkness. The Axemen won 15-8 and advance their record to 4-1.
