Team B.C. Suffers Mental Lapses in Quarter Final Game!
Team
B.C. after going 1 and 1 on Saturday ended up seeded 4th and were
matched up against the 5th Seeded Brooklyin Baseball Club in the Quarter
Final. Team B.C. was in control leading 8 - 3 after 3 innings and were
riding a great pitching performance by Skuija against the big hitting
team from Yakima. At this time B.C. seemed to get comfortable and their
competitive level started to wane. Things started to unravel quickly
as mental mistakes creeped into their game, and before you know it 5
unearned runs later, and the game was tied at 8. Brooklyn seized the
momentum of the game and made the most of their opportunity scoring 3
runs in the last inning to win 11 - 8 and knocked out the bewildered and
shocked Team B.C. from advancing to the semi finals.
Team B.C. Rebounds with Win over Warriors!
Team
B.C. in a consolation game were pitted against the 6th Seeded Northwest
Warriros. Team B.C. came back focused and with more energy and played
great defence behind the pitching trio of Gleason, Storrie, and Dray to
post a shutout and win their last game of the tournament against the
Northwest Warriors.
Team B.C. ended the Tournament with a 2 - 2
record against some pretty big hitting American teams. This was a great
tuneup for the boys as the bonding and game time together will only
help them upon their quest to reach their ultimate dream of being
National Champions!
